Vegas, Baby!

I am off to Las Vegas today! It's that time of year, again at Scandinavian Child... the ABC Kids Expo! In the past there were two large trade shows (JPMA in Orlando, as well) but this year the two combined. It's a pretty big deal for our company. We spend the entire year getting ready! We'll have a ton of new products in a ginormous booth (50 x 50). I'll be gone for a week and I am sure I will have a bunch of pictures to share when I return!

Happy Labor Day!

We spent Labor Day weekend at Jordan Lake with my parents. The weather was perfect... overcast in the evenings and sunny during the day. We did all the normal camping stuff: watermelon & hot dogs for dinner, s'mores for dessert, hanging out by the lake and walking through the woods! I don't think Bailey is much of a camper. Last time we did this, she would sit by the car as if she was saying, "ok, guys, I'm ready to go." This time, she actually got in the car and would not come out! She did sleep better in the tent, though, so maybe she's getting the hang of it. Here are some pictures from the trip:

New Mexico bound

My future sister-in-law, Sarah, accepted a job in Albuquerque! She'll move out there in about a month. I am so excited for her & my brother. I just think this is going to be such an exciting adventure for them!!! Here's a few pictures from their visit yesterday.

The night was a mixture of Island (the bright colored table cloth & dishes), Cajun (the Mardi Gras beads), Chinese (the paper lanterns), Mexican (the mariachi music) and Alaskan (the food)!

We spent last weekend in Wilmington with Dave & Sarah. We really had a wonderful time! We were on the beach all day Saturday. The weather was perfect...a little overcast so it wasn't too hot. Bailey & Piper (Sarah's dog) actually got along pretty well this time. While they weren't exactly playing with each other, they did seem to put up with each other. As usually, Bailey did not want to get in the ocean. She waded in a bit, but as soon as the tide started pulling back, she'd run away. She LOVES the sand and the birds, so it's certainly not that she didn't have a blast! Piper was hilarious with the sand crabs... if you toss one across the sand, she races over to it, grabs it in her teeth and shakes her head! Then, she just spits it out and waits for you to throw another one. So funny! Bailey just watched with a confused look on her face. That night for dinner, we got fresh clams, shrimp and snow crab legs. We had a feast! Sunday morning, we went down to the Carolina Beach boardwalk for Brit's Donuts... the BEST donuts anywhere!!! Then, after a short nap, we had lunch at Mellow Mushroom before heading home. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera so I don't have any pictures!!! You can use your imagination, though. :)

Spruce it up!

As you can see, I am working on my layout. I was getting bored with it, so I'll see what I can find to "spruce it up" a bit! Please be patient with me!
