New Mexico bound

My future sister-in-law, Sarah, accepted a job in Albuquerque! She'll move out there in about a month. I am so excited for her & my brother. I just think this is going to be such an exciting adventure for them!!! Here's a few pictures from their visit yesterday.

We celebrated with a cook out...

(dad brought back fresh caught salmon from his recent Alaska trip!)

The night was a mixture of Island (the bright colored table cloth & dishes), Cajun (the Mardi Gras beads), Chinese (the paper lanterns), Mexican (the mariachi music) and Alaskan (the food)!

This is it!

(I think this is the design I like best... what do you think???)

We spent last weekend in Wilmington with Dave & Sarah. We really had a wonderful time! We were on the beach all day Saturday. The weather was perfect...a little overcast so it wasn't too hot. Bailey & Piper (Sarah's dog) actually got along pretty well this time. While they weren't exactly playing with each other, they did seem to put up with each other. As usually, Bailey did not want to get in the ocean. She waded in a bit, but as soon as the tide started pulling back, she'd run away. She LOVES the sand and the birds, so it's certainly not that she didn't have a blast! Piper was hilarious with the sand crabs... if you toss one across the sand, she races over to it, grabs it in her teeth and shakes her head! Then, she just spits it out and waits for you to throw another one. So funny! Bailey just watched with a confused look on her face. That night for dinner, we got fresh clams, shrimp and snow crab legs. We had a feast! Sunday morning, we went down to the Carolina Beach boardwalk for Brit's Donuts... the BEST donuts anywhere!!! Then, after a short nap, we had lunch at Mellow Mushroom before heading home. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera so I don't have any pictures!!! You can use your imagination, though. :)

Spruce it up!

As you can see, I am working on my layout. I was getting bored with it, so I'll see what I can find to "spruce it up" a bit! Please be patient with me!

Nothin' new

I know it's been awhile, but unfortunately, I don't have anything new to post. Kevin & I have both been very busy at work the past couple weeks. I don't see it slowing down any time soon, either. Kevin is taking a couple classes at Wake Tech. this Fall. He starts in a couple weeks. I am still getting ready for the big ABC trade show at work. We leave in three weeks for Las Vegas. Other then that, the only thing coming up is my brother coming home (finally) tomorrow! We'll go to Wilmington to hang out with him and his fiance, Sarah, Sat. I will probably have some fun beach pics when we return. Right now, all I have is this silly pic of Bailey & I... :)

Jordan Lake

We decided it would be a good idea to use our brand new tent....that we purchased over three years ago... this past weekend! We packed up everything we could and headed to Jordan Lake Sat. morning (after I got my hair cut & highlighted). We found a perfect spot with our own little beach. It was such a hot day so being on the water was a life saver! Bailey loved being out there in the woods... the water, not so much. She will wade in until the water hits her belly, then she runs out like something is chasing her! My dad came up with the boat. Bailey did ok. She was scared, but snuggling in my lap helped. We pulled the boat over to a secluded spot and got out to swim. Leaving Bailey on the boat by herself and calling for her to "Come on, Bailey... Let's go!" she finally jumped in the water all by herself. She actually leaped so high, she went completely under water and I rushed over to pull her up. Once her head was out, she was fine. She's a fast little swimmer, too! That night we had hot dogs, chips and s'mores. Kevin brought Jiffy Pop (which actually says not to use on open flames...but who really listens to warnings anyway!?). After rigging up a longer handle, it popped beautifully! After dark, we got ready for bed in our tent. I think Bailey was wondering when we were going home because she kept wondering over the car... as if to say, "ok guys, that was fun but I'm ready to go home now." After we went to bed, she was up & down all night. Strange noises and sounds must have kept her awake. At about 2am, I awoke to her pushing her nose at the zipper to the door. I let her out and she went to the bathroom (she's so smart!). The next morning, we slept in as late as we could then got up and went back down to our little beach. Dad came back up with the boat one more time before we headed home. I'd say it was a pretty successful camping trip!
