Natura Latex Pillow Review

I just received a brand new pillow... by mail. And, it was not cheap. Hopefully, I am not crazy and this thing will make all my dreams come true (pun intended!). I have been unhappy with my flimsy, feather filled pillow for awhile. And, while I hate to admit it, I am getting older and a good nights sleep has proven to be harder to come by these days. I am tired (pun inteded, again!) of waking up feeling un-rested and sore. So, here's what I got to fix this problem...

It's a Natura Organic Latex Pillow. Following is the review I wrote on the seller's web site...

I give this item 4 out of 5 stars.
The packaging was impressive. A very nice box and an open ended plastic bag surrounded the pillow. (I was glad to see that the plastic bag wasn't actually sealed so the pillow could "breathe".)

The pillow itself seems like it consists of high quality materials (what I expected for the price). Before I continue, I must add that this is my first latex pillow and I haven't actually slept on it, yet. I will let you know how I like it once I have slept on it!

The outer case is soft and quilted. It is thick and sturdy (not thin and flimsy) and it has a zipper that runs the length of the longer side. The latex is squishy and springy. It sort of bounces when you lay your head on it. Very supportive but also gives from your weight. The latex feels, to the touch of your hand, almost like it will just fall apart... like there isn't much there... if that makes sense. Sort of like a really soft marshmallow! It is surprising how much support it offers given the texture. It has no odor what so ever.

The tag reads: "Outer Shell- Organic Cotton, Made in Canada. Hand wash in cold water in mild detergent. Air dry. May be dry cleaned. Short cycle. Limited moisture. Turn and air out periodically. All new materials consisting of: Core- 100% Latex foam, Cover fill- Wool batting (contents sterilized).

I am impressed and anxious to try this pillow out!

Birthday Weekend at the Beach

This was Lea exactly a year ago today...

My how time flies! We have decided to make it a tradition to spend a weekend at the beach for my birthday each year. We went back to this same exact place this past weekend, but Lea was quite different than the crawling baby above. She was still head strong and curious, but this time she was all about the water! (Unfortunatley, I didn't get any video. It was very windy and I didn't want to risk getting sand or water in our cameras.) Lea ran straight to the water once we hit the beach. She got her feet wet and then the rest is history. She immediatley got in the water up to her thighs. And since it was so windy, the waves were pretty rough. That didn't stop Lea, though! A wave would crash onto her, knock her down and get her face all wet... but did she cry and run away? Heck no! My baby girl laughed and got back up to do it again. :)

Our beautiful view from the balcony.

We had a great weekend trip to the beach for my birthday. We had amazing seafood (softshell crab sandwiches and shrimp & crab crepes to be exact), we took it easy on the beach and in the pool, we visited the aquarium and even got a tiny bit of shopping in. I like this new tradition!

Playing with daddy on our way there.
Baby carrots. Her new snack of choice!

Afternoon naps on the balcony.

All dressed up and ready to go!

BIG alligator at the aquarium.
Two of my favorite people!

Happy Birthday, Mommy!

Happy 4th of July!

We decided to take Lea to her first fireworks show this year. I have always LOVED fireworks and have been excited to share it with Lea. We headed out to a local park for our town's annual celebration. We've had thunderstorms every afternoon for the past several days so we weren't sure what was in store for us.

Sure enough... we got poured on! Lea laughed as we ran through the rain back to the car, though. We were soaked! Luckily, I had Lea's dry pajamas in the car, so we got her changed and ready for bed. Then, we found a nice spot to watch the fireworks. It turned out to be an awesome spot. Lea wasn't even scared... just tired. We Oooed and Ahhed at the display of lights and "booms!" then, Lea promptly fell asleep once we were back in the car. :)

And here are a few pics from our weekend. Lea was adorable in her Red, White and Blue (and YELLOW... check our her awesome new shoes!).

Wish they made these in MY size!
And, finally, here's a nice comparison of Lea last year..... and this year!

My how time is flying by. My baby girl will be TWO in about two months!
