Water Babies

Remember "Water Babies"?  I had one when I was little.  I thought it was the coolest thing!

Our little 'water baby' is really getting the hang of playing in the pool.  Friday we put her baby pool in the yard and filled it with about three or four inches of water.  She loved splashing around and even got onto her belly for awhile.  We are loving this fabulous weather!

We went to AquaMoms again Saturday morning. One of the things we do is blow bubbles in the water. Well, this morning, Lea actually tried to copy me! She put her face into the water three times. Maybe after a few more classes she will actually be blowing her own bubbles. :)

Saturday afternoon we went to the NCSU Red and White game.  It was Lea's first football game and she really enjoyed it.  We actually stayed until the 4th quarter (and, honestly we could have stayed until the end but we were exhausted).  Lea squeeled and smiled at people around her.  It was a lot of fun!

Stressin' over nothin'!

Last night we had absolutley no crying!  I rocked Lea long enough to sing one song and when her eyes became heavy, I placed her in her crib.  After a quick kiss good night, I slipped out... waiting outside the door as I just knew she would begin crying when she noticed I was gone.  I waited... nothing.  And waited... nothing.  So, I went downstairs to look on the video monitor and she was fast asleep.  We did it!  She didn't wake up until 4a.m. and after allowing her to nurse for only 5 minutes, she went right back to sleep until we had to wake her at 7:30 this morning.  Maybe I've been under estimating my daughter?  Maybe this was just luck?  Only time will tell!

This morning we went to AquaMoms class, again.  Lea really enjoys playing in the water and I get a good workout.  We sing songs to our babies and help them be comfortable being in the water, all the while exercising.  Needless to say, we're both pretty tired afterwards!  Here's a couple pictures from our first class a few weeks ago.

Four Months Old

Lea is 4 months old! Here's what she's up to these days...

  • She is getting good at grabbing toys and bringing them to her mouth to chew on. She also chews on her first two fingers - all the time!

  • She has rolled over from her belly to her back (but only during 'naked time' after her baths!) and rolls to her side from her back all the time.

  • Her exersaucer is becoming a favorite toy as she finds something new on it every day.

  • She loves books! We read to her every night. She smiles and watches the pages turn... and often tries to turn them herself.

  • Her favorite new 'trick' is blowing 'raspberries' and spit bubbles. She'll do it for so long that her chin and shirt become soaked in slobber!

  • She is discovering her feet!

  • She is very close to making the "buh" sound.

I have some really cute videos from our new Canon Vixia video camera, however the file type doesn't seem to want to load in blogger. I'll figure it out soon so I can share them with you. :)

Lea and I have started a Mom & Baby Yoga class on Friday mornings. It's very interesting! The oldest baby is 6 months old. Anything goes during the class... one mom could be nursing or changing a diaper while another might be trying to calm her fussy baby. Honestly, the babies (about 6 total) were very happy. Lea enjoyed it so much, she fell asleep!

Her four month well check is next week. We're looking forward to finding out just how much she is growing. (she's getting so big!)
